Description A significant recognition of military service performed in defense of our nation, the Global War on Terror Service Medal celebrates American active duty heroes who fight for freedom and secure American interests throughout the world. The Global War on Terror Service Medal honors personnel of the Armed Forces of the United States who distinguished themselves by performing duty in a designated anti-terrorism operation for a period of thirty consecutive days or sixty non-consecutive days of duty. The time requirement is waived for those wounded or killed in the line of duty or otherwise engaged in combat.
