Description The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is an agency of the Department of Homeland Security(DHS) that has authority over the security of transportation systems within and connecting to the United States. On the morning of September 11, 2001, nearly 3,000 people were killed in a series of coordinated terrorist attacks in New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia. The attacks resulted in the creation of the Transportation Security Administration, designed to prevent similar attacks in the future. Driven by a desire to help our nation, tens of thousands of people joined TSA and committed themselves to strengthening our transportation systems while ensuring the freedom of movement for people and commerce. 25 years since the September 11th attacks, the Department has marshaled this collective vision to face new and emerging threats against the Homeland. Perhaps most importantly, they forge partnerships to strengthen public, private, and international cooperation and crowd-sourcing solutions. This woven patch is accented with colorful highlights depicting a firefighter kneeling in prayer with the memory of the World Trade Center Towers behind. The locations of the Pentagon and Shanksville Pennsylvania, the crash site of United-93, are also highlighted above a patriotic American Flag. The Words, “NEVER FORGET, EVER VIGILANT, 25 YEARS OF PROTECTING AMERICA” encircle. The back is blank and intended to be sewn-on. Each patch measures 3″ (76mm) in diameter.
