Description Established as an official unified combatant command of the U.S. Military in 1987, U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) trains and equips America’s elite covert units. Integrating special operations elements from all military branches, USSOCOM is comprised of the U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASCO); Navy Special Warfare Command (NAVSPECWARCOM); Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC); Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC); and Joint Special Operations Command.(JSOC).
