Interesting sights: Kettle Falls The medallion’s obverse shows a group of voyageurs, the legendary seventeenth and eighteenth century French-Canadians who were hired to transport trade goods to Indians and trappers and bring furs back to the trading posts, traversing the park in a birch bark “North canoe”, typically made by Ojibwe Indians. The reverse shows a beaver, a resident of the park and the primary source of pelts in the days of the voyageurs, doing his own work on a tree. Each coin measures 1 1/2 inch (38.1mm) in diameter.
