Description Commemorate your visit to Mesa Verde National Park with this die-struck medallion. Great as a gift, to celebrate a trip or to just hold as a lasting reminder of your experience in America’s great outdoors, this splash-minted National Park medallion will be a timeless keepsake that you will treasure forever. Located in the southwestern corner of Colorado, Mesa Verde National Park showcases the dwellings and culture of the Anasazi pueblo people. Spanish for “green table,” Mesa Verde is where the pueblo people made their home for over 700 years and is home to over 600 cliff dwellings. The park’s crown jewel is the Cliff Palace, the largest cliff dwelling in North America. The medallion’s obverse shows the dwellings of the native Pueblan people and the date the park was founded in 1906. The reverse shows a picture of an Anasazi and crafted earthenware. Minted in deep relief using a special “splash minting” process, this coin is struck in a brass alloy and given a beautiful lacquered finished. Each coin measures 1 1/2 inch (38.1mm) in diameter.
